Lucky 7 for Jayson

Really did get lucky for his birthday...I didn't really plan on anything, talked him out of a bday party and again trying to do simple :)  It fell on Memorial Day weekend and we said if a JetSuite comes up we'll go if not we'll stay home and the night before when they released flights there was one to Van Nuys, so grabbed it, so he got to ride on his actual birthday
again more excited about the sprite since they can only have it on a jet or if sick :)

didn't have to bring much since Jay had our luggage in the car, he left earlier that o drive to Van Nuys to pick us up on the other end...Jay hasn't even rode on it yet!  So nice he doesn't mind driving :)
 party time!
and where does this guy want to eat after we land, Taco Bell for some Stephen Curry basketball cards
we drove an hour down to Irvine and stayed at our usual place at the Spectrum. After checking in and resting went to Dave & Busters to play games...he did good but 3 different random people gave him their tickets...I guess older kids aren't really there to win tickets just on dates and not many parents have their kids out late like we did so there weren't many kids to choose from...hee!  People are so nice sometimes, he was so excited!
He was able to get a basketball!
 bday dessert!
we only stayed one night, but it seemed longer since after checkout we stayed the whole day before driving home...stopped for some dim sum which Jaylin loves...
bday boy wanted to ride the carousel
then had to stop at 85 degrees bakeries...couldn't believe the crazy long club line only letting a few people at a time...the first time we went wasn't that crowded...the sea salt coffee was worth it, the line went fast.
then Jay decided to hang out at Newport Beach for a while, a different beach than our usual Laguna...we thought we were just gonna sit on the beach for a while, but on our walk there we saw a bike shop and Jay stopped in to ask about it and signed us up.  So glad we did, it was so much fun!
was amazing to just ride along the beach in front of all the beach houses and it was beautiful out.  We were actually really worried Jaylin wouldn't be able to keep up since she hasn't ridden in a while, but she did really good.
It was there that we realized Jayson didn't know how to ride a bike yet, so he sat on the back of Jay's double bike
 quick dip in the water

we even saw some crabs
so pretty...so sad we had to leave that night
we had lunch at Lola's the next day because he said he wanted her to cook all his favorites, fried rice, egg rolls and orange chicken and he said it didn't feel like his birthday without his family...love this guy!
big ice-cream cake from Auntie Dee and Uncle Mathew, his favorite cookie dough
and got some real dough from the Lola's
 and Aunties
and a bike from Lola and Lola that he learned how to ride in one quick lesson, not sure if it's cause he's a boy or cause he's old already :)

It was a great birthday and memorial weekend!
