New Year's

Happy New Year again, can you believe the first month of 2009 is already over! This year we celebrated on the strip

right across from Mandalay Bay

cousins from San Jose came to celebrate with us

Jay and I toasted with mini wine bottles

since the deguzman-chau family were in town...we took them to the new Palazzo Hotel

where we saw a new show "the living garden"...Jaylin was a little freaked out by them, she calls them the "white ladies"

then to eat one of our favorite places, Yard House...Jaylin and Angelo, the middle children

Jayson and Maddie...the babies...Jay's sister's three kids are about the same age as our kids but opposite, she has two boys and a girl

Jayme and Marcus the oldests...these two are best cousins, they pretty much grew up together in their baby/toddler years

The day after New Year's we got to stay one free night at the Red Rock resort in Summerlin, Las Vegas...we've eaten and gone swimming here before, but it was our first time to stay the night...

the view from our room was great!

We ate buffet and the kids played at Kids Quest, an indoor play area for kids that is filled with all kinds of stuff like dress up/kareoke, dolls, kitchen, obstacle course, slides, etc...parents drop the kids off and you pay by the hour...it's totally safe :)

Thanks for hooking it up again Lola!

Vegas Visitors

Had a few CA visitors this month, no offense to the others but my favorite one was Tyler Christopher, Nikolas from General Hospital, one of my favorite favorite shows. He was signing autographs at the Southpoint Hotel at the yearly Women's Fair. Thanks to my hubby for looking out and thank God my husband keeps up with Soapstar news, he knows more Celeb info than I do :)
new doctor on GH, probably recognize him as Brady from Days of our Lives

Alan and Olivia came to Vegas to celebrate their anniversary, we were able to visit them for starbucks and some catching up...a quick visit, looking forward to the next time so we can spend more time together...I had been going through SCU withdrawals so it was nice :)

took the tram to Luxor, but didn't stay very long, Jaylin was scared of the mummies

Lisa and Dale also came to Vegas to celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary!

went for lunch at Claim Jumper, Jayson loves Auntie Lisa!

and the girls enjoyed talking to Uncle Dale, let's just say they got to experience lunch with the crazy DeGuzman family...haha! it actually wasn't too bad, the girls were good, Jayson got cranky half way until I took him to the bathroom and threatened to leave him in there for time-out if he didn't stop, it actually worked :)

and Sponge Bob!

Family Time

This month was a special time with family

Auntie Nin's birthday

Lolo's birthday

Uncle Mark and Auntie Tanya

Uncle Todd

It was nice to see and spend time with some family we don't see often, we are all pretty close...so blessed to be part of such a supportive and loving family!

Zappos

The annual Zappos Holiday Party is always in January after the holidays, this year it was at Studio 54 at the MGM

It was alot of fun, probably had one too many martinis, but it's quality time with the co-workers right :)
Another exciting thing...Jay made it into Fortune Magazine...the girls think daddy is famous :)

Frozen Yogurt, Gelato or Ice Cream?

which do you prefer? With all the frozen yogurt craze going lately, we had our fill this month...we like yogurtland and all the other places where you pick your flavor and add a bunch of toppings and it goes by weight

Frozen Yogurt at "Red Mango" it was okay, had a real yogurt taste to it more than an ice cream taste...Jayson put fruity pebbles on his

Gelato from Le Golosita was soo good, the girls had chocolate chip, Jay and I had Tiramisu and it was delish!

Then there is the good old fashioned ice cream sundae which never gets old with the kids...I'm sure all three different kinds are all the same to them

we didn't just eat this month, we did some exercising too :) There is a park near us called Exploration Peak at Mountains Edge, that has a trail and nice views
