Thanksgiving Weekend...Jonas Brothers Concert

Thanksgiving prep started with making Turkey cookies. I make these cookies every year and usually let the kids make a few of their own

First you split oreo cookies in half, clearing off the cream on one side and leaving the cream on the other. Then you put icing on the candy corn

and press 5 of them down onto the clear side of the oreo cookie...doesn't Jayson look like he is working hard :)

then you have pretty turkey feathers

the end result is a herd of turkeys...I have to do the rest cause it gets tricky and sticky, you make the rice krispies as normal and then with damp hands shape them into a ball, then lay on the turkey feather side, then up on the cream side making them stick together, then finish off with chocolate chips! This was an idea I stole from a former Williams Sonoma co-worker :)

This year we had Thanksgiving at moms house here in Vegas...everything was soo good, love
Thanksgiving food! Mom did the turkey and a bunch of side dishes, Tip and Nin did ham, mash potatoes, and homemade stuffing, I did the candied yams which I just became a fan of this year :)

Jay did the turkey carving

and Tip did the ham slicing

Not only did Jaylin do the prayer for our food, but she sang for us...practicing her Christmas songs for her musical at school

after eating until we couldn't breathe anymore, we lounged around on the couch and watched Tip and Rick's Wedding video...it was so good, had bonus features, deleted scenes and everything, newlyweds now for almost 6 months!

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving like we did, lots to be thankful for this year!

We ended the night at Adventure Dome with Auntie Tish and Uncle Rommel, they made a last minute road trip from San Diego to take the kids to play...but I think they were the ones that really wanted to play games:)

I think the fishing game was the girls favorite

Thanksgiving week ended great, the girls got a big surprise and went to the Jonas Brothers concert at the MGM with Auntie Dee and Auntie Michelle. Thanks for hooking it up Michelle...she got the girls free tickets to the concert!

Jaylin rockin out, singing and dancing...this one screamed when she found out they were going

my favorite, Joe Jonas :)

Thanks again Auntie Michelle and Auntie Dee...the girls had lots of fun!!!

Christmas already!

Really can't believe how it is already almost Christmas! At our second home, the Town Square shopping center, they had a parade for Santa's entrance, 1st day into the Santa House

After the parade, they had a Christmas show about bringing up the Christmas spirit

the kids were excited to take pictures with the performers

jay wants this guys Christmas tree hat

Jay and I also got to watch a special Zappos premiere of 4 Christmases, it was a cute movie...love going to the movies

this one is ready for Christmas!

The girls even got their first Christmas present already from Auntie Aubrey...they got pom poms, the bolt soundtrack and a High School Musical DVD game...Thanks Aub

Dee's birthday and apartment warming

Auntie Dee turned 27 this month. We had dinner at mom's house and Auntie Nina brought yummy carvel ice cream cake, her signature cake. We love Auntie Dee, she is the kids 2nd mom, part-time nanny, driver and role-model...where do you think the girls get their style, sassyness and high maintenance from :) Happy Birthday Dee!

The girls also made her monkey bread

I thought Jayson was going to help, but he just wanted to eat the sugar

and couldn't wait to eat the end result
Now that Auntie Dee is all grown up :) she moved out and got an apartment of her own with Auntie Nin
and because the moms were gone (in the PI), we all helped cook food for their apartment-warming...everything turned out so yummy, especially Nina's lumpia

Jayson spent most of his time near the dessert, nothing beats a chocolate fountain

and with his new BFF, uncle Rick!

Addicted to Yard House

We seriously went to yard house every week this month. Not only is the food good, but from 3-6pm daily, they have half off drinks and appetizers, so it's a steal...we made it a habit to go on Fridays...so if your trying to spend less these days like us, this is the place to go. Plus it's in a shopping center, so we can have a drink or two and then walk around and play before it's time to go home :)

the girls love their pizza and their sliders

I am addicted to the Hawaiian Poke Stack

plus they give the kids swirly straws :)

So one Friday when Betsy, Quintin and adorable Lincoln were in town, they met up with us

Then we went back again because Tip and Rick wanted to check out town square

and went to play with us after too

As you can see some of the family is getting tired of my picture taking :) except for Jaylin, she is always happy to smile for the camera

Fun stuff

Before Lola left to the Philippines for a few weeks, she took me and the girls to see High School Musical 3...have to say it was pretty good, I almost shed a tear

We also took another trip to the strip to see the chocolate water fall

and just to let the kids run around

and we never get tired of the water show...I personally love it when they play Faith Hill's "this kiss" song :)

for those of you that don't know, Jayson's favorite things to eat are rice and sweets mainly cookies and cupcakes...this time he actually gave me the box asking me to make them, I have to work fast otherwise he will keep dipping his fingers in them :)

and then pretends he is dipping his fingers in them as he is watching them bake

I usually don't let the girls play in the kitchen, but it was the day after Thanksgiving, so I let them...haha...they wanted to make a surprise...I wouldn't taste it but daddy sure did! It was a sandwich with icing, candy corn, sherbet ice cream and sprinkles...ugh eww! I prefer Thanksgiving leftovers :)
