Busy in th Bay

June started out with a road trip to the bay for a girls SF food tour, my godson's baptism and Carrie and Marv's baby shower...got a lot done in the few days we were there. Left Vegas early Thursday am and as soon as we got to SJ, got a hair cut, visit cousins, then hung out at Melissa's house while Jay had his dinner out with the guys

Friday was my turn, spent the whole day in SF from 9am - midnight :) First stop was Brenda's French Soul Food...our ghetto food tour as we called it was hosted by Christina...the best person in the city to give one...front parking at all of our stops while driving fast throughout the city as there was no time for stopping during the tour :)

first time I had shrimp & grits

beignet flight included crawfish, chocolate, apple and a plain beignet...I liked them all, probably the chocolate and apple together were the best :)

2nd stop, Dynamo Donut for their famous maple bacon donut, third one over below as well as the other different flavors listed above...interesting taste but I prefer a plain glazed donut :) I want to go back and taste the vanilla bean as I wasn't a fan of the spiced chocolate or chocolate rosemary almond

3rd stop Paulette's for french macaroons...so good I am still craving them...my favorite flavors are rose almond, coconut and caramel
we did take a break from eating to watch SATC2 at the Kabuki theatre, but then right after stopped for takeout at San Tung for their famous wings and dumplings...and spotted dessert a few stores down at Peasant Pies
we seriously got one of each kind
then for a quick break at Christina's to get ready for dinner at Roy's with the rest of the SCU gang...we were pretty much done with eating by then
SCU 10 yr reunion dinner, thanks to our elder Johannah for planning

stopped at a bar/lounge for a little but then called it a night...it was a long day

Saturday am was Christian's baptism
my Godson is a happy cutie pie with lots of dinner rolls :)

this was only one of the tables...can't expect anything less from the Tan family

loved his bible cake

then late afternoon we went to Marv and Carrie's baby shower in redwood city...Uncle Marv!

kids had so much fun playing

they needed a fan break with Uncle Ralph and Auntie Grace

then more play fighting with Auntie Amanda and Uncle Abe

Jayson got put into rest time so many times on the couch...getting into some serious conversation with Uncle Mark

present time was out on the deck

Lola Rose giving out m&m's for kisses

Congratulations Auntie Carrie, can't wait to meet your little girl!

From there we headed home, at about 9pm so I could catch my NYC flight at 11am the next morning...Crazy! Was sad to leave, wish we could have hung out with the family longer

NY Trip

Once a year, work thought a good idea for us planners to see product and bond with our buyers on one of their buying trips, so this year I got to go to NY with the clothing team. It was a very fun time, but also very exhausting which is why I could never be a buyer :) Days were busy speed walking from appointment to appointment and nights were filled with yummy dinners and great company
view from my room...stayed at the Thompson Hotel on the lower east side, walking distance from Katz deli, which is where we went as soon as we got there

up early for breakfast every morning, part of zappos tradition is that before everyone's individual meetings, team breakfast

after a very busy first day looking at clothes, picking styles and summarizing business was dinner at Ben and Jack's steakhouse...no I'm not prego, just looks like it in this pic...it's the dress :)
right after dinner we had to go to Tony's book launch party at the Hudson Hotel

me and Jarett in the city...day 2

then a crazy dinner at Tao...so much food

and that was on top of all the sushi

first time I did shabu shabu...I left uncomfortably full

and it wouldn't be a zappos dinner without shots...cheers was to good business with Michael Kors

twas a fun evening

day 3 with Karrie...went with her to her Betsey Johnson meeting and we were fortunate enough to meet her...there was a random fire drill in the building, so we all had to exit, including Betsey
had a nice dinner at Mario Batali's Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, everything was yummy!

on day 4 we finished early, so we did some shopping in Chinatown. Megan lives to bargain, I just can't do it, but she is good

she even bargained these frozen sangrias, $2 off :)

was able to meet up with old high school friends Jude & Tony for dinner at Mooncake

and drinks at the Gansevort Rooftop

then for dessert at the meatpacking district, The Collective...my cousin Carla even came out to meet us
deep friend ding dong and a strawberry shortcake were A-mazing

Friday came and before flying out, Jarett and I went back to the meatpacking district for brunch at Pastis and a walk across the skyline
since I was already on the east coast, had to go visit Kay and the family in VA for the weekend before heading home

finally got to see Gabriel

and celebrate Kaden's birthday at tiger den, his tai kwon do school

so cool how he got to chop his cake with a sword

right after was Tina & Alan's shower...fun Hawaiian theme
then before I left for home the next day, I was able to catch Ava's ballet recital, she was so cute, but instead of the many flowers she received, she only wanted a lollipop

Father's Day Weekend

Father's Day Weekend was spent with cousins
The day before Father's Day we went to the movies to watch Karate Kid and then to Sammy's for dinner for their huge cotton candy...kids loved it
then went for a hike to walk it off at Exploration Peak
made it to the top!
then on Father's Day we went for habachi/teppanyaki
