Dinner & Dancing in Palm Springs...why not!

It was the start of bday month so why not take a jetsuite :)  The thing with jetsuite deals is you only get a days notice and have to be ready to go if one opens up and it's only one way.  One popped up for a late Friday afternoon to Palm Springs, so Kristin and I scrambled the night before trying to figure out car rental, hotel.  We would only go for a night since I had to be back Saturday evening for a wedding only to find later after I was getting ready to leave that it was in fact that Friday night!  I felt horrible, but Jay said to go, so he attended alone but luckily lots of our zappos friends would be there.

cheers!  we barely made it on the plane on time...Amy and Holly came straight from a hike to the airport!
got there, checked in to our little hotel that was walking distance to the downtown area
had mexican for dinner...yummy chips & guac

bar hopped
had brunch at a cute lil place
 lox were delicious
as was my waffle :)
hit the outside market, then headed home.  It was a quick trip, totally fun and worth it.  Why not have dinner in another city and return the next day :)  Glad these girls are so down to take off just like me...hee!

My sweet bday!

Birthday this year was filled with lots and lots of sweets!  My team got me cupcakes and macarons from Gimme Some Sugar, yum!
 and donuts from pinkbox

then found this on my desk!

love the note and these donuts also from pinkbox have to be special ordered, salted caramel!

Jay set up lunch with the gang

then more treats during our afternoon meeting
as always, full & happy, feeling the love.  It was a great day...finished it off with dinner with the crazies :)

Spring Break Staycation

Since we didn't go anywhere for Spring Break decided to do a little staycation and check out the new downtown lv hotel, The Grand which is right across the street from work...pretty cute, pool area is called Picnic

Inside is nice and for the price it's a really good deal
pool is a little small, but it worked for them...got really burnt, we were at the pool the first day from like 10am-3pm...over did it a little, they got darker than dark :)
 hard life
 poolside eating is the best!
then of course at the end of the week the parents needed a lil break from spring break...happy hour hopping at a few of our favorite places in Town Square, Blue Martini and Double Helix

The Linq

Back to the Linq after the Ferris wheel finally opened for our team outing

crazy that those pods can carry up to 30-40 people
it doesn't stop but moves really slow so you are able to get on and off
about a half hour ride around

pretty when the lights go on

and nice views of the city

being silly in the high roller

and as you can tell, not the best group selfie taker :)
afterwards had to check out the Sprinkles ATM to see what it was all about...it was amazing!  If you choose the right cupcake of course.  I tried the orange one and it was really good.
yummy!  you can see the orange zest on there :)  Nice to have another option in Vegas to hang out at. Would be fun to get the whole family in the pod when they visit.  And there are other restaurants and shops in the walkway as well like Brooklyn Bowl, Kensie and Ghiradelli...new dessert stop for us :)
