Jay's 40th

Big birthday this year...highlight of his bday was a boys weekend here in Vegas, mostly consisted of Golf, ATVing and Hakkasan
we were able to sneak in a sushi date before he left with the boys
new spot in our neighborhood called Soho Sushi...one of the nice things living here in Vegas is when chef's from the strip open their own restaurants off the strips for us locals to enjoy!  Chef John Chien Lee from Social House is in the southwest area now and he was so nice to come over and greet us.  These little tostada bites were something different, pretty good!
family ice-cream run on the day of Jay's bday...was so happy he snuck away for a little bit from his boys weekend.  It meant alot for me and the kids to get to spend some time with him on his real bday even if just for a little bit
after boys weekend was done, ended on a family bday dinner at Chayo in the new Linq area on the strip
cool spot, new place to hang out, the wheel wasn't open yet.  Excited for Sprinkles and some other new places to open up here

food was okay
I personally enjoyed the chips & salsa better :)
Cheers to this guy, best hubby and dad! Always tell him we'd be bored without him.  He keeps the family fun and makes us all feel loved even when we don't deserve it :)

Foam Fest!

we rented a big scary van

and road tripped to Chandler, AZ for my first 5k Foam Fest

matching tanks from Zappos.com :) and before we got dirty...
ran through fields
 over hay bales
 through some foam

 some mud
 across lily pads

over walls

down a huge slide..I was most scared of the slide!  I didn't want to get rubber burn like I did going down a slide at the pumpkin patch last year :)
!
 more foam fun

and beers at the end
we were done with the run by noon, so we went straight to the pool!

felt like we were somewhere tropical, the hotel was a cute little spot right in the downtown area
which made it really nice to be steps away from the shpos, bars and restaurant
had some really yummy and huge bruschetta there and hung out at a fun bar called The Perch.  Was a great girls weekend!

Dessert Dash #3

3rd Dessert Dash with just the 3 of us this time...original dessert dashers, original zappos planners :)  we run and eat dessert!  We did the Summerlin area of Las Vegas which some people reference as the OC of LV
 first stop...

Macarons! We also had a croque monsieur which was delicious
2nd stop Honey Salt for a glass of wine first...such a beautiful day out and we got props on our funky hats :)
then some salted caramel ice cream and bread pudding
ice-cream was so good, it deserves it's own pic :)  I'd have to say the winner of the dessert dash! Didn't think my fav could be ice-cream, but so good with the salted caramel and cookie pieces in it
3rd stop, the dessert trio at Yard House

6 miles in, 3 dessert breaks, brunchy weather, props on the crazy hats = successful dessert dash, calories burned vs. dessert intake is for sure positive...hee!

We have a teenager!

Big teenager wanted to travel with her bf for her bday, so we traveled to the beach :)  We let them stay in their own hotel room connected to ours, so they could somewhat feel like lil adults.
 Jaylin went straight for it
we lounged

then to Lemonade Cafe, cause that's where all her favorite bloggers go?
regular and guave were too sweet, green one was okay
pink lemonade cupcake was pretty good
then shopping at the Spectrum, especially to see her favorite bloggers line, bethany mota
sometimes they get along, very little sometimes :)

twinsies

took Mister on the Ferris Wheel
enjoying
 relaxing
 us too

literally shopped til they dropped!
 next day was pool day
and bakery day...can't go without a stop at 85 degrees
for my favorite white chocolate bread and sea salt ice coffee :)

crazy we have a teen...Happy Birthday Jayme! We Love You!
